The IAS Juvenile plan gives children under the age of 16 a simple way to build long term member benefits through small regular contributions. Each juvenile account receives an annual allocation from the Society’s Juvenile Sick Fund, helping the account grow over time
Contributions are made through the child’s membership:
• Up to age 6: 2.5p every four weeks (32.5p annually)
• From age 6 to 16: 5p every four weeks (65p annually).
Sickness and death benefits
If the child becomes ill for a prolonged period, sickness benefits may be payable through the plan.
If the child dies before reaching age 10, all contributions paid into the account will be returned.
Benefits at age 16
The juvenile IAS provides the perfect 16th birthday present. When the member reaches age 16, the full balance of the account is paid out as a tax free lump sum and they may then apply to join the IAS Adult plan.
